Utonomy wins at UK Gas Industry Awards

Utonomy attended the 2026 Gas Industry Awards on 13th May, and was delighted to win the Net Zero Innovation category for their ‘Intelligent Gas Grid’ Project, with partners SGN, DNV, Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, Wales & West Utilities and National Gas.

The Intelligent Gas Grid (IGG) project is a unique initiative consisting of an AI-driven, autonomous network management system designed to reduce methane emissions, detect faults ahead of time, and increase biomethane injection capacity. The judges recognised the project as an outstanding example of collaboration and innovation, demonstrating how digital technology can accelerate progress towards a greener energy system.

The Gas Industry Awards have been recognising and rewarding the outstanding achievements of organisations and individuals working across the gas industry since 1998, and are organised by IGEM and the EUA each year. They brought together 100s of gas sector professionals on 13th May 2026 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane, London, to celebrate twelve awards, with expert compering from comedian, Lucy Porter.

Utonomy would like to congratulate all winners and nominees for their accomplishments in the gas sector, with special thanks and congratulations to their own team and project partners.
